Junior QA Engineer

RemoteFull-Time

About SellAbroad

SellAbroad is a global commerce platform helping DTC brands scale internationally with localized storefronts, local payment methods, and 2–3 day delivery across GCC and global markets.

We are backed by the world's largest investors like Antler.co, Angel Spark and etc.

About the Role

About SellAbroad

SellAbroad is a cross-border payments and Merchant-of-Record platform. We let e-commerce brands sell into new markets without owning the payments, compliance and routing complexity behind checkout — localized checkout, local payment methods, duties and taxes, and order management.

We're headquartered in Dubai and work as a distributed team.

About the role

You'll work under our Head of Product & QA, who owns the quality function here. This is the role that puts real testing capacity behind it.

This matters more here than at most companies: when a bug reaches production in a payments platform, a merchant loses a sale or a customer is charged incorrectly. You are the last check before that happens.

Beyond the experience, what matters most is being the kind of person who notices the thing everyone else scrolled past.

What you'll do

  • Write and execute test plans for checkout, payments, and the order management system
  • Run manual and exploratory testing across the merchant dashboard, checkout, and admin tools
  • Build and maintain regression checklists, and run them before every release
  • Reproduce, document, and prioritise defects with clear, repeatable steps
  • Verify fixes and close the loop before a release ships
  • Test payment flows across multiple providers, currencies, and countries
  • Test across browsers and devices, including in-app webviews such as Shopify and Meta
  • Grow into automated testing — writing and maintaining automated checks over time

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in a QA or testing role
  • Genuinely meticulous — you write bug reports someone else can follow without asking questions
  • Comfortable with browser dev tools: console, network tab, reading logs
  • Basic SQL, and comfort testing APIs with something like Postman
  • Clear written English — most of your output is written
  • Able to work Sunday–Thursday, aligned to Dubai hours

Nice to have

  • Exposure to payments, fintech, or e-commerce
  • Any experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar
  • Shopify or WooCommerce familiarity
  • Experience with a test case management tool
  • Basic JavaScript or TypeScript

Who this role is for

  • People who are bothered by things that are almost right
  • People who want to understand the whole system, not just their corner of it
  • People who want to grow into automation and own a QA function as we scale

Who this role is not for

  • Anyone treating QA as a stepping stone to get into development next month
  • Anyone who can't write a clear, reproducible bug report
  • Anyone who needs to be told exactly what to test every day

Growth path

Junior QA Engineer → QA Engineer → QA Automation / QA Lead

You'll learn directly from our Head of Product & QA, with room to take on automation and greater ownership of the function as the team scales.

What we offer

  • Real ownership of quality across a live payments platform
  • Direct work with our Head of Product & QA, and with engineering
  • Exposure to the full cross-border stack: checkout, payments, orders, settlement
  • Remote-first, paid in USD
